Alzheimer's disease is a progressive, degenerative, irreversible brain disease that affects the physical makeup of the brain and leads to memory loss and other problems. Research is well underway to find a treatment for this disease. For over three decades, Fritzingertown has been a trusted provider of specialized care for Alzheimer's and other dementia as well as senior personal care throughout Luzerne, Carbon, and Schuylkill counties.

We know that when someone you love may be experiencing some memory challenges, it can be lonely and upsetting for the individual as well as for their caregiver and/or family member. The Evergreen Unit at Fritzingertown is an Alzheimer/Memory Care unit, developed to accommodate the areas growing need for such specialized care. We are happy to provide quality, caring support for residents suffering from these debilitating diseases.

Evergreen is a separate, secured unit located on the same campus as our personal care residence. Evergreen's design has been created to provide residents and their families with a feeling of warmth and comfort, all in a homelike setting they have come to expect at Fritzingertown. We also have designated walking paths available outdoors. This space offers residents a larger, yet controlled environment. Also, in the Evergreen facility, residents are encouraged to be creative and still take part in their hobbies, personal interests, and history. Also included in the Evergreen facility is Respite Care, available for a short stay of a weekend, week, or month to give caretakers a much-deserved break.
